ENGAGE – An acronym of the first letters of the words: Edify, Nurture, Grow, Assimilate, Go, Expand

  1. EDIFY: Instructing and uplifting each other through scripture and spiritual disciplines. “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” (Rom.14:19)
  2. NURTURE: Caring for and encouraging the spiritual growth of others. “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” (Jude20-21)
  3. GROW: Being intentional in developing oneself in the Christian faith. “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” (Col.2:6-7).
  4. ASSIMILATE: Finding our place in the ministry that God has called me to. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all…”(1 Cor.12:7).
  5. GO: Fulfilling the Great Commission. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” (Rom.10:14-15)
  6. EXPAND: Going beyond the walls of our building. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings…For you shall expand to the right and to the left…” (Isa.54:2b & 3a).
